CONCLUSION CONSONANT AND VOWEL SOUNDS

CONCLUSION CONSONANT AND VOWEL SOUNDS.

The vowels consonants are very important in teaching and learning of the English language, for my consonants were easier to the vowels; however vowels were more difficult. My point of view about voice and consonants is good because it is between two subjects.

VOWEL SOUNDS

OPEN VOWELS

An open vowel is defined as a vowel sound in which the tongue is positioned as far as possible from the roof of the mouth. Open vowels are sometimes also called low vowels in reference to the low position of the tongue. The open vowels identified in the International Phonetic Alphabet are:
§  open front unrounded vowel [a]
§  open front rounded vowel [ɶ][1]
§  open central unrounded vowel [ä]
§  open back unrounded vowel [ɑ]
§  open back rounded vowel [ɒ]

A close vowel is a type of vowel sound used in many spoken languages. The defining characteristic of a close vowel is that the tongue is positioned as close as possible to the roof of the mouth without creating a constriction that would be classified as aconsonant.
This term is prescribed by the International Phonetic Association. Close vowels are often referred to as high vowels, as in the Americanist phonetic tradition, because the tongue is positioned high in the mouth during the articulation of a close vowel.
The six close vowels identified within the International Phonetic Alphabet are:
§  close front unrounded vowel [i]
§  close front rounded vowel [y]
§  close central unrounded vowel [ɨ]
§  close central rounded vowel [ʉ]
§  close back unrounded vowel [ɯ]
§  close back rounded vowel [u]

SONG TRANSCRIPTION

SONG TRANSCRIPTION

The transcription of the song was not difficult because I had to transcribe the consonants, my point of view about this work is a good  because I tested my knowledge however; I was originally confused in the [ll] I am sincere transcribe to english is a little boring.

SONG PRESENTATION

The presentation of the song is a way to develop a good pronunciation, the song that I chose for the consideration of phonology was WE WILL ROCK YOU by QUUEN a group very famous in the 80s. My point of view about the song is a good thing, because it helped me to pronounce better the words.

TONGUE TWISTER

                                    TONGUE TWISTER

A tongue-twister is a phrase that is designed to be difficult to articulate properly, and can be used as a type of spoken (or sung) word game. Some tongue-twisters produce results which are humorous (or humorously vulgar) when they are mispronounced, while others simply rely on the confusion and mistakes of the speaker for their amusement value.

Betty Botter bought a bit of butter.
The butter Betty Botter bought was a bit bitter
And made her batter bitter.
But a bit of better butter makes better batter.
So Betty Botter bought a bit of better butter
Making Betty Botter's bitter batter better.

REFLEXION
I think that the tongue twisters is very important because it helps people to improve their speech, tongue twisters are for children, young people and adults who need a better pronunciation of the words.

EXTRA INFORMATION

THE TONGUE TWISTER MORE LONG THE WORLD HAS ABOUT 190 TO 250 WORDS WAS CREATED BY A STUDENT AT THE Sorbonne IN 2006  (STEPHANE DUCHEN RUEN )

CONSONANT SOUNDS

CONSONANT SOUNDS

In articulatory phonetics, a consonant is a speech sound that is articulated with complete or partial closure of the vocal tract. Examples are [p], pronounced with the lips;[t], pronounced with the front of the tongue; [k], pronounced with the back of the tongue; [h], pronounced in the throat; [f] and [s], pronounced by forcing air through a narrow channel (fricatives); and [m] and [n], which have air flowing through the nose (nasals). Contrasting with consonants are vowels.

Since the number of possible sounds in all of the world's languages is much greater than the number of letters in any one alphabet, linguists have devised systems such as the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) to assign a unique and unambiguous symbol to each attested consonant. In fact, the English alphabet has fewer consonant letters than English has consonant sounds, so digraphs like "ch", "sh", "th", and "zh" are used to extend the alphabet, and some letters and digraphs represent more than one consonant. .

                                                  REFLEXION

Through learning the consonant sounds   the English language is easier because you have understanding and knowledge of the consonants in addition, the learning of consonant sounds is very important because it facilitates pronunciation however, the language must be well located for that the sounds have been correct.
